Cause for Migraine Headaches

Any body who has had a small stress induced headache knows that sucks, but imagine the migraine headaches that actually pulse and mess up your speech, eyesight, give you tingly feelings in your arms and legs. What’s worse than that is the pain can be so severe that you become nauseous and even begin to vomit.

What you might not know about your headaches is that you might actually be causing them by eating something your body can’t handle but there are many causes for migraine headaches, and the best way to avoid them is to know what might be causing it for you, and avoiding that.

Your diet:
Your diet plays a huge role in your body’s health, and something as little as skipping a meal one day could cause you to develop a migraine headache. It can also be as simple as eating something that doesn’t agree with you. It could be that you are eating too much in the way of things like cheese, grilled fish, and red wine. It can also be that you are used to having something like caffeine or alcohol, and you have suddenly stopped.

Sleeping habits:
Your sleeping habits also play a huge effect on your health and how your body reacts to certain things. Having too little sleep causes you to react to certain things such as stress differently. You are more likely to overreact, and having too much stress can easily cause you to have a migraine headache. The same applies if you get too much of sleep, except for different reasons. Too much sleep puts your body off balance compared to what you would normally have. If you get too much sleep you don’t usually get the same amount of food, and as you know skipping a meal can cause a migraine headache, and you get less exercise, which is also a key in headache prevention.

As you can see, two very basic things can cause you to have a migraine headache. Add on other factors like smoking, stress, and certain types of foods, excitement, posture, other environmental factors, and other personal triggers. There is a good chance that it is more than one of these factors that will be the culprit of setting off your headaches, and if you are constantly suffering from migraine headaches you should go to the doctor to make sure that it isn’t something more serious, and see if there is a treatment that they believe will help you.
